WARTA Life Assurance Company Limited was founded in 1995 and is a joint-venture company. Its main shareholder is TUiR WARTA S.A. (94.06%), Poland’s second largest insurer. As of December 2003, the main shareholder of TUiR WARTA S.A. is KBC Group. KBC Group is the third largest bancassurer in Belgium, and its companies have a market leading position in Central and Eastern Europe. KBC Group has over 50,400 employees and was listed among the Fortune Global 500 in 2006.
In September 2005, in order to rebrand and redefine itself in the market, WARTA redesigned its logo and corporate identity based on the logo and identity of KBC Group. This new identity was launched in the beginning of 2006 and embodies the changes implemented at WARTA as a result of its association with KBC Group. KBC Group gives WARTA access to capital resources and best practices based on international standards.
WARTA's geographic range covers all of Poland. It maintains 11 macroregions, 49 sales regions and 213 representative offices located throughout the country and provides coverage to more than 970,000 people.
Since its inception in 1995, WARTA Life has added more than 2,000 group insurance contracts to its portfolio. WARTA Life’s assets as of December 2006 amounted to PLZ 937 million (USD 329 million).
WARTA Life Assurance Company Limited has been an IGP Network Partner since 1995, when IGP first entered the Polish market.
